Almost all California's are Automatic, it is pretty rare to see a manual transmission in a California. To edit some of my pictures I use the app "Camera+" it's really easy to use and it works really well. Thanks! I'll let you know too if I find a rare car.
I think that California must be locally owned. I think there were a few other users on here who have seen one just like it. It's an automatic, unfortunately.
But yeah, Black Series are pretty wicked. I hope to see one of them on the road someday, so it will be a legit spotting and I can post it on here! By the way, I ran across a website a few days ago called Pixlr.com. It is a free photo editing site, so I have been messing around on it trying to figure out all the kinks and whatnot. But once you figure out how to use it, pictures come out drastically better than originally, so if you ever get a chance, you might like to try it.
I haven't seen anything rare lately, although I haven't been around where exotics usually are, and the rain surely hasn't helped (although I did see a pretty wicked looking CTS-V Coupe earlier). But I'll be in Charlotte next weekend, so hopefully I can make it back to the South Park area to do some spotting. But if I see anything around Raleigh in the next week or so I'll be sure to let you know!
The CLK63 Black Series is one of the best AMG's ever made. I saw a white California today! It's just like this one you saw http://www.exoticspotter.com/ferrari-california-raleigh-north-carolina-122177
I took a picture but I was in the car so the quality isn't that great :/ I'll be hoping to see one of those Black Series on C&C next month!
Car & Driver is an interesting website. If you ever make an account, add me as a friend!
But yes, the SL65 Black Series was a surprise to me. I think they only made 125 of them, so they are super rare, and for one to be in NC is spectacular. There is also the C63 Black Series which is usually there. I remember a few years ago, I saw a CLK63 AMG Black Series at RDU. I didn't have a camera with me, which really sucked because they only made 40 CLK 63 Black Series.
I haven't seen that GT3 RS on the road. The only GT3 RS I have ever seen on the road was a gray one with red lipstick (which I now can't seem to find the pictures of). I saw it on Harrison Ave. in Cary.
I was browsing through your albums in that website and you've seen some nice supercars! I definetley want to see that SL65 Black Series someday and that C63 Black series too. I saw that baby blue GT3 RS a week ago, it went by so fast lol, hearing that naturally aspirated flat 6 is awesome
I have been to both Foreign Cars Italia locations, although it has been over three years since I went to the Greensboro place. But I remember there was an F40, an F50, and an Enzo there.
There aren't many Astons in the Raleigh area. There is a burgandy colored one that is usually at Cars & Coffee (http://backfires.caranddriver.com/photos/53420) but I haven't ever seen it elsewhere. There is a DB9 in Cary (according to my chiropractor), and I have seen a bright yellow V8 Vantage off of U.S. 64 in Cary. A few years ago I saw an Aston Martin parked in a parking lot in Regency Park in Cary, but I haven't seen it since. It was black (although my brother swears it was a white V8 Vantage) and looked like a DBS to me! And I remember seeing a DB9 Volante for sale on Craigslist a few years ago in North Raleigh, but I don't know if it was sold to a local buyer.
There is an SL65 AMG Black Series somewhere in Raleigh. He has been to Cars & Coffee multiple times (http://backfires.caranddriver.com/photos/53462) and said he knows someone who owns a McLaren.
You should go to Lamborghini Carolinas and Foreign Cars Italia, totally worth it, they have tons of rare supercars! I haven't seen any Aston's around here :/
Really?!?! I haven't ever seen one. Haven't been to Lamborghini Carolina's either.
Fairly successful in Charlotte: saw an Aston Martin V8 Vantage, a Bentley Continental GTC, a Bentley Continetal Flying Spur, 2 Corvette ZR1's, a Maserati GranTurismo, a Maserati Quattroporte, and a Rolls Royce Phantom. If you are ever in Charlotte, go to the South Park area on a Friday or Saturday night; there will be tons of stuff there. A valet who saw me taking pictures of the GranTurismo said he saw a red Gallardo drive through the plaza, but I couldn't find it.
Yes! Charlotte has some nice cars too! I went over to Greensboro to Lamborghini Carolinas and they do have an Aventador! Along with a SL65 Black Series and other nice rare supercars.
Yesterday, while we were driving over to Carowinds, we were sitting in a turn lane waiting for the light to turn, and a Corvette ZR1 drove past. I didn't have time to react to get a picture though : (
Then, a few hours later when we were leaving, we saw a Bentley Continental GTC drive past in the same direction on the same road. Didn't see that in time either : (
I'm hoping to make it to South Charlotte tonight to spot some rare cars. I always see rare stuff around there!
I've never seen a Carrera GT, hopefully I'll see one someday! I heard Charlotte has some nice cars. I did saw a RR Ghost in the Renaissance Hotel in Raleigh, I'll post up a picture of it.
I don't think I've seen any red GT-R's in the Raleigh area, but I think there is one running around. User "xX458italiaXx" saw one, so it might be the same one.
I haven't seen that GT3 there; must not have been there when he was. I saw that there was a Carrera GT there earlier this year (February or March), and I missed that show!
I'm actually in Charlotte now, so I'm hoping I'll see a few rare cars to post (usually I see two or three, but often times I am driving and don't get a chance to take pics). If I see any parked anywhere though, I'll definitely get pics. There are a ton of rare cars in South Charlotte, which is where I almost never am.
I did see a Viper GTS on Sunday; it was an older red coupe driving along Hwy 401.
That sucks man, I hope you get better! It was a red GT-R and that grey one with a blue stripe in the front bumper. The GT3 was all black with orange stripes saying "GT3 RS". It's actually just a normal GT3 and not a GT3 RS.
When I was at the chiropractor earlier, he said that someone who lives in Holly Springs has a white Mercielago. He said he has seen it twice, and you can hear it coming, lol.
I would have gone to C&C, but I injured my knee last week and was restricted to just very light walking. I'll probably go next month though!
I have heard that there is a blue Aventador running around in Raleigh, but I haven't ever seen it. One of my friends said he saw an orange one in Apex/Cary (NC 55), but I haven't seen that one either.
Was one of the GT-R's this one? - http://backfires.caranddriver.com/photos/53448 This was at the July C&C, and I have seen this GT-R all over Cary. There's also one with some a front splitter taped on with blue tape that I've seen once or twice.
There are also a bunch of Lotus Elise' and Evora's running around, but I only have pictures of two or three of the Elise'.
I have seen one GT3 RS in Cary. It was gray with redish/orange "lipstick." I saw it at Cars and Coffee a few months back as well.
I haven't seen a Murcielago yet, I heard there was an Aventador over in Greensboro. I went over to Cars & Coffee in Cary on Saturday and there were 2 458's, 2 GT-R's, a R8 V10 Plus, GT3 RS, Cayman R, many many muscle cars lol, and some more nice cars.
