Description Sorry for the double-bogey (mirror-bomb and window glare). Kinda caught this guy at the last second as we were pulling into Granite City off Utica Ridge. There are a handful of these in the Cities, but they're usually stored away or only brought to car shows; very rarely can they been found out driving around. Regardless of how slow they may be, I absolutely LOVE DeLoreans.
Same here: 2WD, gated manual, Lamborghini. Perfection.
I really love Galena and the surrounding area. It's such a beautiful region full of history, places to explore, wonderful scenery and tons of fantastic roads.
I can't think of a better setting for your experience. Such a picturesque town, made better by that days events. The Balboni Edition is one of my favorites.
In early October 2010, Galena hosted the final stop of the Fireball Rally. There were quite a few exotics and vintage cars, but best of all, Mr. Valentino Balboni (yes, THE Valentino Balboni) was there (driving, of course, a Balboni edition Gallardo). I got to meet him, shake his hand, got a few pics of/with him, and he even browsed through an old Lamborghini book I've had since I was 10 before writing a nice little message and autographing the inside. "Pleasant" doesn't even begin to describe the man; just incredibly nice and down to earth. He was even humbled that I wanted his autograph. It simply blew me away.
What an amazing day and memory that will always be for me.
Great shots on your page. I noticed a handful in Galena...., which most people wouldn't expect. I have family there, & know that there's a lot of money in that town. I work w/ a gal whose brother just purchased a DeLorean in Des Moines. A timeless classic that always turns heads. I'll never get tired of seeing these.
