Description One of my best spots to date. A one of 100 SV editions from 1999. This one had the side decal deleted and regular wheels fitted. It was completely nuts. Spotted at a recreation centre on Wyandotte.
This is a kit car. Everyone in Windsor knows it's a kit car. You need only look at the fog lights see their from Partsource or Canadian Tire. Also the black trim paint on the front fender is not as angular as the Diablo.
It certainly does look in retrospect to be a kit on a standard Diablo. I had also forgotten that only the Jota and SE30 cars have those intake fins in front of the rear wheels, SVs just had big holes. Any other angles?
There are so many things wrong with that car! It's either a kit or a genuine car with a ton of after market, non genuine parts on it. The wing is kit (doesn't match any of the genuine wings), the sill fins are not genuine (they don't align properly), the front bumper is angled like a SE bumper but the bottom part is made to look like a SV, but the black inserts are wrong and the fog lights are non-genuine. Wheels are very early VT. Side mirrors are very thin to be genuine.
Where did you hear there were 100 Monterey's made in 99? As far as I'm aware, 99 only saw the Diablo GT, a Roadster SV and one or two other one-offs. I was under the impression the SV Monterey was run in '98 and only 20 were made. Sick shot either way! LF
