That could be true. Maybe part of the problem is I just don't see the appeal of Maybachs, but this one already has 11 likes so what do I know?
I uploaded the Lotus Elite as a Lotus Esprit because there is no category for the Elite (because it's so rare) and I figured it had a better chance of being featured as an Esprit than if I uploaded it as Other Other.
However, I believe it's because as soon as a car is uploaded, it's automatically put into its general category (a rare 360CS is categorized as just a 360 in the site's index), and if there are so many of that type of car on the site already, or if it isn't considered "rare" enough, then you won't see it on the featured page because they leave the featured page to cars that either aren't uploaded very often, or cars that are considered "ultra exotic".
That's why you don't see Vipers, Corvettes, NSXs, GranTurismos, R8s, 911s, 360 Modenas, etc on the featured page, yet non-exotics like a Saleen S281 Mustang or a Jaguar XKR will be featured.
At least that's my guess, and that's the only thing that makes sense to me.
@CanadianScooter: I agree completely! The other day someone posted an awesome picture of a beautiful red 360CS and it did not make it on the featured page. I have no idea why that spot was not featured.
I don't get it ... how does a photo of half a Maybach get on the featured page, and my photos of a very rare Lotus Elite -- the only two photos of such a car on the whole site -- don't?
