Some guy was looking at me weird looks near the Ghost muttering "Why are you taking pictures, bruh? Why would you take pictures?" as if it was the most questionable thing he had ever seen. People take pictures of cool buildings and cool views, what's weird about taking pictures of cool cars?

Oh wow thanks for the info. Not even sure exactly where Sullivan's is. On Sunday I saw a classic bright orange Dodge Powerwagon which I missed and 4 minutes later after I gave up looking for it a blue Cali T drove right by my house which I got. It was crazy because I've only seen a few exotics on my street in my lifetime (of course plenty right near here on East Blvd, but very few literally on my street) and all of those have been ones that live nearby or were visiting nearby that I found in driveways, none that just drove through like that so it was very bizarre. And then I saw an R35 with carbon fiber rims which the owner of came out and revved for me, and then at Southpark I saw a stunning blacked out Ghost (my dream sedan).

I'm in Southpark about once or twice a month. My mom likes to shop at Whole Foods, so I usually either ride with her or drive her there, then walk or drive around the area for a bit, but since we're coming from North Charlotte (the University area) we usually just go to the store in Huntersville. I have caught some really good cars in that area though. But yeah, I just seem to see a ton of Bentleys and Maseratis around in Southpark (and the Lake Norman area), so after a while it just feels like shooting fish in a barrel. I mean I was in Southpark for about two hours on a Thursday around lunchtime in mid-December and saw three Bentley Continental GTs, all 2012-16 models. South End and Uptown have produced some great spots for me as well, although it seems to be either a home run or a strike out in those areas haha. If you're ever near the Sullivan's Steakhouse in South End, make sure to peek in the parking lot as you pass because I've seen a California, 458 Spider, Ghost, Phantom Convertible, i8, Continental GTC V8, and Aventador SV there over the past few years, and Tryon St in Uptown gets some decent cars at night. Usually I see Bentleys and Rolls Royces just bombing around, but I have caught an AMG GT S, Huracan LP580, Mulsanne, and a bunch of other stuff like that.

Oh wow, your threshold is much higher than mine. I definitely don't see Bentley's or GranTurismo's everyday or California's often. That being said, I'm rarely in the Southpark area and hardly ever go somewhere other for the purpose of spotting as I don't have my license. That'll change by the time I'm in college though.

I don't bother taking pics of regular Continental/Flying Spurs or GranTurismos unless I'm practicing panning or some other technique like that (or I catch one somewhere outside of Raleigh or Charlotte). They're nice cars, just not my cup of tea. I always try to get pics of any Supersport or MC models though because I only see a few each year if I'm lucky, and the same goes for 4200/Gransports, although I haven't seen one of those in literally about four years. I still take pics of Astons and R8s, but mainly because they're some of my favorite cars on the road, not because they're terribly exotic anymore. I mean I went to an Italian car show back in 2016 and saw seven different Aston Martins while I was out that day haha. Even Californias have gotten common enough that I just don't bother going out of my way to get pics of them because I keep seeing so many of them lol. I still always try to get pics of other Ferraris as well as all Lambos, Lotuses, McLarens, and Porsche GTs though because I don't see a lot of them.

Absolutely. Just seeing a Maserati used to be an event for me. I still get excited about GranTurismos and 4200GT's/Gransports but I don't really bother with QP's, Ghibli's and Levantes. Bentleys and Astons are still a big deal to me although increasingly common. The higher end supercars are definitely more common too. I've lived in Charlotte my whole life and never saw my first Ferrari (a 430 Spider, nearly gave me a heart attack) until I was 8 or 9. Now there is no way I could go more than 7 weeks without seeing at least one. That's hard for me to gauge tho as I go to school away from now so am not here for many extended periods of time.

The more common exotics (Astons, Bentleys, Maseratis, etc) have definitely gotten more common. I remember my early days of spotting in Charlotte, and it was okay, but nowhere close to how it is today. I mean, I used to see maybe a couple Astons a year, and Bentleys and Maseratis were perhaps a handful a month sighting, but now I feel like I can't swing a cat without hitting one lol. On average days I'm seeing like 2 or 3 Bentleys and 5+ Maseratis pretty easily.

Agreed. I'm starting to see multiple exotics a day regularly which I definitely couldn't say a year or two ago.

Thanks, you're bound to catch one soon! I seemed to see a lot of new Lambos in the second half of 2017, and it seems like the Charlotte exotic car scene as a whole is really starting to hit its stride.
