Jaguar E-Type spotted in Asheboro, North Carolina

Details on This Jaguar E-Type:

  • Location
    Asheboro, North Carolina
  • Description
First and foremost, give a round of applause to Eeti for helping me edit this! I found this parked in a small plaza in Asheboro on my way back from Charlotte last week. It had a Connecticut plate, but the owners loved driving it enough to bring it down to NC for some upcoming car shows. Feedback on the shot and edit is appreciated! (There's another semi-exotic photobombing the shot as well!)

Great work on the edit Eeti!
Nick the shot looks great, the E-Type is so beautiful!
@Maddog83: I hope they build the Pininfarina concept, it looks great.

All I know is that someone about an hour southwest of Cary owned one at some point, and I'm assuming still does. I don't know anyone who's ever spotted it though.

Wait a Veyron in NC?? Tell me more lol.
They used to make an 8Series and if you see an 850csi then those are worthy of posting. Very rare. They have a V12 and I got to sit in one at a car show in the speedway.
We have a lot of C&C and the Charlotte one is huge and getting bigger as well as a lot of invividual car shows scattered through the year. There is also one at the Waterbean Coffee Cafe in Cornelius (where I am) and you can see some interesting things.
Bentley's/Maserati's and Ferraris are the most common and a Lamborghini is pretty common but not Aventadors it Mercy's usually. Aston Martins are also around a lot. Other than that, you can see reall anything it's just rare.

Thanks guys. Yeah there was an 8-Series in the '90's...BMW didn't sell a ton of them, so they are kind of rare. I see them at about the same rate as I do Z8 Roadsters.

The new 8 Series is not actually out yet. The car you saw on Google images in the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Concept, which BMW says could preview a new 8 Series. Based on recent reports though, it looks like there won't be a new 8 Series. Anyway, I love E-Types. Nice spot.

Holy cr*p!!! I only know of one Veyron in NC, and the owner lives in the middle of nowhere. There are a couple of Aventadors in Charlotte, but I've never spotted any of them, although usually there are one or two at the C&C I've been to (just not when I'm there). There are a decent number of Gallardo's in Charlotte, and a handful in Raleigh/Cary, but I see more in Charlotte even though I live near Raleigh. Murcielago's are crazy rare, I've seen two but both have been sold since then and I'm not sure if there are any others in the state. I almost never see Ferrari's (or Lambo's for that matter) in Raleigh, but there are actually a good many here, though nowhere near as many as Charlotte has. McLarens are INSANELY rare in NC, someone in Raleigh just got a 650S Spider literally last week (he's getting a P1 later this year), but other than that I only know of two others in the whole state (both 12C's). Astons are a once or twice a year sighting in Raleigh, but are a little more common in Charlotte (usually I see one each time I'm there).

Same with nashville. We have a GREAT turnout every time, and by great I mean a few aventadors, a bugatti veyron, and various other mclarens, lambos, and ferraris. I have to say my favorite car was either the db2 that showed up or a gallardo that looked SUPER clean. I saw the urraco on the way to C&C.

Yes there are quite a few. Unfortunately the one near me was cancelled, but one of the C&C's in Charlotte has a consistent turnout of some pretty good exotics.

No, I've never been to Nashville. I was in Knoxville several years ago with my dad, but don't have any family or friends in TN, and haven't been there since. But there have been some amazing cars posted from the area, so I bet I wouldn't be disappointed!
