Ferrari Rossa spotted in Carmel, California

Details on This Ferrari Rossa:

  • Description
    There's no 166mm Barchetta category for Ferraris, so i put it under the only Ferrari i don't know. Nonetheless, this is what i'm 90% sure a real Ferrari 166 Touring Barchetta. Only those knowledgable about classics can tell. If it isn't i'd be happy to take it off.

@Lamborarri, are you sure? In the pics I've seen of 0002M, the grille is different. 0022M is the only one I've seen where everything matches up.

@DJHerbert this is Chassis #0002M, which was the very first Ferrari 166MM touring Barchetta built. It was produced for the 1948 Turin Motor Show and was sold to a collector named Thomas S. Lee. Unfortunately, Lee committed suicide, so his financial advisor held on to it until his death sometime in 1995. At this point, it was sold at auction to a huge American collection which includes another 166MM.
