Oh okay cool. My mom's Passat Wagon is the only automatic equipped car in our driveway and the transmission is a deal breaker. You can shift it manually but it's not the same as a proper manual. I learned to drive on a manual and I've always preferred it by a mile over an automatic.
I hate it when dealers are always like "you sure you want a manual?" I mean come on, if I for some reason wanted an automatic (not like that's ever going to happen!) I'd say so, but stop trying to convince me to spend another $1,500 for the auto.
I've seen a good many 2014 '3's in Raleigh. I know that one was a manual. Mazda and VW manage to sell a respectable number of manual equipped vehicles though.
It's the '13, the '14 hadn't been released. The dealer asked me 3 times if I was SURE I wanted a manual? I won't buy another automatic, after driving that, up against the CX-5. It seems as though the car wants to control input. I drive the manual, exactly how I want. The front end redesign is the best they've had, and more than 1 manufacturer has mimicked it in their own fashion.
Haha thanks. Unfortunately I've never had a chance to drive one before (my dad only buys VW/Audi products) but I want to get one. I feel like they're the only car company that really brings their A game anymore.
What year is your Mazda3? The 2014 model is available only with the Skyactiv 2.0 and Skyactiv 2.5 engines (the 2.5 unfortunately isn't available with the manual yet, will be soon though) and the last generation offered the manual with the Skyactiv as well. The Skyactiv 2.0 is pretty slow with the automatic though, so maybe it's more "gutless" than useless, lol, since it gets pretty good fuel economy.
Yes it is. Seems rather mundane, what, w/ the California sitting there. Still a nice car though. Love your user name, I'm currently on my 3rd Mazda 3, (wife has the CX-5) Got a manual transmission this time, in order to avoid their useless Skyactiv™
