Back in the late 90s if you could afford a Buick Century in China is pretty like buying a Mercedes E-class there today, so Buick is still a popular middle class car rn. And when that van went on sale back then it was pretty much the only decent minivan available back in the early 2000s, so it became very popular and still has a good reputation today.
@Star80 great info, thank you! I didn't know about the Maybach, checking it out now.
That's funny about the Buick, I remember seeing articles back in 08/09 about how popular Buick was becoming there and it's one of the reasons GM chose to kill Oldsmobile, Saturn, hummer, etc. instead
@rampante550 Accent, that's not a factory paint and the car was wrapped. That Lexus minivan is called the Lexus LM and it's based on the Toyota Alphard. The car costs $200k in China. Btw Mercedes is selling a V-class Maybach van in China.
Believe it or not the most popular minivan in China is made by Buick, google the Buick GL8.
also, i had no idea you could get a lexus minivan over there/anywhere. wish acura or lexus would do something like that here. mercedes tried and made an amg version of it, but it petered out.
