Ferrari 275 spotted in Malibu, California

Details on This Ferrari 275:

  • Location
    Malibu, California
  • Description
An absolutely epic find that deserves to be my 750th upload: A 100% REAL 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB coupe!!! I was so damn excited to see this incredible car parked at the Malibu Country Mart sandwiched between two Toyotas! Here the best part: besides Shmee150, I was the ONLY other car spotter who actually saw this! No joke, everyone else was at the other side of the plaza leaving a restaurant and chatting while I on the other hand searched a bit more and hit the jackpot!

Thanks! It's been a long time since I got EC but this car is so rare and special that pictures don't do it justice. Seeing it in person was way cooler than I would've thought.

Nick, I believe I watched a TV show about that specific car this morning. It was on Chasing Classic Cars, and Wayne Carini went down to the private airport where it was located in a garage, and checked it out there. It was originally owned by Edward C Smith SR, who owned it since it was produced. He purchased it for $12,500, which was a lot of money back when they were produced!! It ended up being sold at the Pebble Beach Auction for $25 million, totalled to $27.5 million after the commission. All $27.5 million was donated to a bunch of different charities across America.

It was a rather interesting show, and the car just looked insane!! I believe it now resides in a private collection in Beverly Hills somewhere.

There used to be a N.A.R.T. Spyder in NC. Unfortunately, the owner sold what was the only single owner N.A.R.T. Spyder in the world a couple years ago so I'll probably never spot it : (

@jessyl I was attending a car show in Vero Beach, FL one time and I saw a yellow 275 all-aluminum body. What a beautiful car! The car show was a showcase of all the top cars from collections in Florida from Jacksonville to Miami. Also there were a bright blue P1 and an MC12 (standard white and blue color combo).

It's incredible to see how actual is the design of such a piece of art. It seems these cars will never get old.
By the way, was it a regular GTB or a GTB4?
Four overhead cams instead of two (20 more HP, up to 300). Produced from 1966. You can distinguish them by the front hood.
Also to notice that a few units were built with a 100% aluminium body, meanwhile the rest of them had only the doors and hoods made of aluminium.
These all aluminum body units are the most sought after.
Luigi Chinetti imported in the US 10 cabrios of the GTB4, named Ferrari 275 GTB4 NART Spyder.

Gorgeous looking car. This thing is just stunning! I'd love to spot one of these! There are very few of these in NZ, I believe there are only 2! Great shot, angle and find Ashoor. Congrats on 750 too.
