BMW M6 spotted in Blenheim, New Zealand

    Heard there was a DB9 at a local panel and paint shop went down there and this was there also. I have been told this is some sort of special edition with a M3 racing engine in. Could someone confirm or Deny this please

BMW built a total of 5,859. I'd assume these are very rare in New Zealand considering these were only sold in North America(USA & Canada), Europe, and Japan.

There's technically no official special edition for the M6 E24 except for the unofficial BMW of Great Britain's M6 E24 Motorsport Edition(only 20 built) and the 2 VERY LAST North American 1989 M6 E24s. I'm unaware of any M3 racing engine in them, but they do use a version the M88/S38 engine used in the BMW M1.

It's possible the owner swapped the original engine for the M3 racing engine.
