Not to mention, the side mirrors are more rounded than a standard E39. Though those could have also been replaced.

Not to start a war.. and only because it is Monday and I still do not want to be working.. but what on the front would allow you to determine that this is an M5? Besides anything that cannot be customized?? It would be easier to change a standard E39 front bumper to an M5 bumper than the exhaust system..
Would you really be making this argument if there was an M5 badge at the back?

Agreed.. only the M5 E39 has quad exhausts.. even the 540i had single.

Yea this is the M5, none of the non M cars have quad exhaust tips, the only way is having an after market mod on it but that's pretty rare.
