Yes some times it is way more expensive but it is mainly because of the taxes, there are lots of taxes when you own a car, but for in other cars there is not a big difference, there is a bigger difference when the brand puts the price on dollars, but for example Mercedes Benz has the prices in mexico listed in pesos so it cheaper, but well its a fact that cars in the united sates are cheaper than in Mexico.
I once when to Land Rover in Mexico City. The same Range Rover I have costs $145K USD when I had pay less than $80K. Not to mention the sales man highly recommended bulletproof the truck.
The price in the US is almost the same that in Mexico, it's not like in Zimbabwe or Chile that they have to export the car and charge you extra, it is a bit more expensive due to the dollar price compared to the peso and another taxes that are dumb.
