Prices of super cars aren’t always based on performance. Sometimes, the brand of car is where the hefty price tag comes in. These statistics are based on MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price), the performance, and the specifications of the car, excluding styling because some people may think a car has a nice design to it, others may not.

5) 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage: $118,370

Aston Martin isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind when you are thinking “reasonably priced.” But to own a 2012 V8 Vantage, you don’t necessarily have to be swimming in money. At a base MSRP of $118,370, this car can be reached by a wider variety of people who want a fast and luxurious car to cruise around or even use to show off. This Aston produces 420 horsepower and 346lb-ft of torque from its 4.7L V8 providing a top speed of 180 mph. Standard in this car is a 6-speed manual transmission, but if you want quicker shifts you can add Aston Martin’s 7-speed Sportshift II automated manual transmission at an extra cost. New for 2012, the V8 Vantage has been equipped with wider tires, larger brakes, and quicker steering.

4) 2012 Audi R8 4.2L V8: $114,200

The 2012 Audi R8 4.2L V8, based partially off of the Lamborghini Gallardo platform, produces 420 HP which gets it 0-60 in 4.3 seconds with a  top speed of 187 mph. It features to Quattro All-Wheel Drive system which helps you get a good start off the line, a 6-speed manual transmission which is stock and you also have your choice of the R-tronic automated sequential transmission to give the driver more control (but of course, that option will come at a cost). On the highway, this R8 will get 20 mpg.

3) 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS: $111,150

The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera has something most Porsches don’t have – an all-wheel drive system. Whether you consider it a sports car or a super car, it is in the super car performance range. With a base MSRP of $111,150, this little ‘super car’ has a 3.8L flat 6 cylinder engine which produces 408 HP and does 0-60 in a great time of 4.0 seconds, then all the way up to a top speed of 186 mph. When order your Carrera 4 GTS, you have the choice between a 6 speed manual transmission and the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission which features both automatic and manual modes which enables extremely fast gear changes with no interruption of the flow of power. This car can also be practical too. At cruising speed this naturally aspirated 911 will get 24 mpg on the highway. Not bad for an all-wheel drive Porsche.

2) 2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: $111,600

The 2012 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, with an MSRP of $111,600, produces 638 HP and can sprint from 0 to 60 in an astounding 3.2 seconds, then racing all the way up to 205 mph. In first gear, you can reach 66 mph. With launch control enabled, it will jump off the line keeping the back tires planted by softening up the suspension so weight can be transferred to the rear of the car when you put your foot down to the floor. The ZR1 is also more fuel efficient than most super cars. With an EPA estimated 26 mpg on the highway, your wallet won’t be hurting when you bring your ZR1 back home after a nice cruise.

1) 2013 Nissan GT-R: $96,820

The Nissan GT-R – The most reasonably priced super car that is currently in production. With a 3.8L V6, this car produces 545 HP and 463 lb-ft of torque. The traction control system along with the all-wheel drive system gets the GT-R from 0 to 60 in a mind-blowing 2.7 seconds! The GT-R is also capable of flying from 0-100 in a whopping 6.7 seconds. Reaching a top speed of 196 mph, this is truly the most reasonably priced supercar you can buy. Although it has had a price hike of about $7000 since the previous model year, this new GT-R is well worth the extra seven grand. The horsepower has been upgraded helping the car accelerate a small bit faster. And even the top speed has climbed an extra 3 mph making the top speed 196 mph instead of 193 mph.
